We especially loved that the heart of the house was always beaming with natural light that poured through the original leaded-glass windows. It made every season feel a little brighter, even on a gray Seattle day.

What we’ll miss most, though, is the neighborhood. This is one of the most family-friendly corners of West Seattle, with multigenerational neighbors who look out for one another and so many elements of daily life within walking distance.

Hiawatha Playfield always felt like a true extension of our home and yard, whether for quick fetch with the dogs, a long afternoon stroll, or just a change of scenery. On weekends, it was our beaten path to Olympia and Current Coffee, Good Society, Mioposto, Hoste, and so many other nearby restaurants and shops that offered daily convenience and deep community connection–so close to home.

Every summer, the custom designed backyard was both our sanctuary and social hub. Morning coffee chats and evening sunsets under the mature maple are some of our happiest memories here.
