From the sellers...
When we moved into 6308 we immediately felt at home. The first week we were greeted with cookies and cheerful welcomes from neighbors who have now become friends. We spent countless summer days in the yard with our son and enjoyed rainy evenings cozying up on the covered patio.
Our family has enjoyed our Saturday morning walks to the cool coffee shop that is just a block away and then to nearby parks. We will miss our Springtime egg hunt with the other kids on the block. Our favorite place to end the day is on the second floor balcony overlooking the Sound and watching the sun go down over the Olympic mountains.
The house is bright in the afternoon and gets plenty of sunlight and the tall ceilings and modern finishes make it so easy to entertain guests. The downstairs layout was great for hosting friends, gathering around the large kitchen island, and enjoying dinner. We also loved the Xmas tree set up in the large window next to the fire place. Iconic!
Having the garage off the alley was great for privacy. It provides tons of off-street parking for guests, or space for storage of toys (jet skis, pop-up camper, snowmobiles etc.) We also appreciate the alley trash pick up versus the front of the house.
We really like the yard. Fully fenced, it provides privacy and room to roam. Our kids loved it when we set up the swing set--we could see them and the perch above the street made us feel safe. We planted vegetable gardens on south facing side of the house to maximize sunlight. The two seating areas on the side and back yard for bbq’ing and a fire pit are additional well-loved outdoor rooms..
There are a couple other practicalities that we really appreciated about this house that the next owner may enjoy. First, the upstairs laundry and utility sink are spacious and super handy with ample nearby double linen closets. (We love the livability without clutter!) Second, the upstairs ADU gave us the flexibility to house an Au Pair or provide a close but separate space for our aging parents. It's also been useful as a second living space upstairs and away from main floor living. The design really lends itself to the many modern ways of organizing life.
We will miss our cozy modern home and we hope that the next family enjoys it as much as we have!
