Welcome to what we, family and friends have come to love and appreciate as The Lodge. Our family has deep PNW roots and when we arrived here, we fell in love with West Seattle's welcoming community, incomparable natural beauty, and proximity to the beach and the city.
We discovered this NW modern gem in 2006. Amidst the architectural diversity of the neighborhood, its period Northwest style and design was rare. We both adored these homes, built with organic materials and colors, cathedral ceilings and walls of glass intended to celebrate the natural landscape and climate.
Rain or shine, The Lodge collects and fills with natural light. The ceiling heights add peace and calm and create an incredible entertaining space. It’s easy to get lost in the views on solitary rainy Sundays. It’s a joy to fill its open chambers with laughter of friends and family.
Of course leaving the house is good living too. The walkable Alaska and Admiral junctions are filled with family-owned restaurants and creative small businesses. Heading downtown is easy. When the bridge is available, it’s a 15-minute drive with no lights, or the water taxi is just down the hill.
Having found our dream home in a dream location, we’ve spent the last 15 years joyously and lovingly improving it. Coates Design guided us on how to further open the space and aerospace engineer Brandon Wilkie designed and built a marvel of a deck that cantilevers out to surround you with views. We’ve added unexpected turns and unique spaces--filled with fixtures and finishes with forever in mind. The Lodge’s dramatic ceilings create gallery like interior walls we’ve filled with art gifted to one another over years of holidays and birthdays.
The Lodge, the light and love it collects, its ability to creatively inspire and create memories will be hard to leave. We hope you see and enjoy all of its gifts as we have.
