From the seller...
We bought 3261 in 2005 with a newborn. Since then, we have had another son and lots of twists and turns. As life long West Seattle residents, we knew this house was special when we bought it. We learned from a former mailman that he grew up in this house as one of 11 children! So much history. I would love to see what it used to look like inside.
My favorite features are the upstairs bedroom turret and the back yard deck. The back yard is very private. We used to have a covered gazebo on the back deck that was wonderful in the summer. In the winter months when the trees have no leaves, the Space Needle is visible from the front yard.
There is not much traffic on the street, so the kids ride bikes and play in the neighborhood. There is a green space just up at SW City View & Admiral Way that is owned by the city but maintained by a family as a neighborhood play space with a tire swing, picnic table, and usually a badminton net. We have neighborhood Easter egg hunts and gatherings up there. There are a few paths through the trees behind it that the kids love.
It has been a joy to live in a neighborhood full of trees and one minute from the freeway. I love listening to the sounds of the trains--close enough to hear, but not loud enough to be a nuisance. It’s pretty easy to get around here: one block to a bus stop (as well as the water Taxi). In a few years, light rail will also be within walking distance. The Alki trail is also convenient to walk, run, or bike.
We are on to new adventures in Spokane, so it's time to let go of this wonderful house. We have enjoyed our 13 years here. The neighborhood is full of wonderful families and lifelong friends. It's very hard to leave this beautiful old house and the charm of West Seattle. I hope you will enjoy the home as much as we have!
